Biography

Hinn Íslenski Þursaflokkur (Icelandic for "The Icelandic Flock of Trolls/Giants", also sometimes credited as Þursaflokkurinn) is a progressive folk-rock band from Iceland. They formed in the 70s and released their self-titled debut album in 1978, using the full-length name. Subsequent albums used shortened forms of the name. They were active until the mid 80s, and have reunited from time to time since then. The band's chief composer and frontman, Egill Ólafsson, has remained active in a wide variety of areas, from music to film to art.
