Biography

Waiwan, which happends to rhyme with Taiwan, is already a regular feature on the UK circuit, playing nights such as Plastic People in London, as well as Electric Chair and Counter Culture in Manchester. He has also toured with Giles Peterson and Eddie Piller, the founders of recording label 'Acid Jazz'. His style has largely been influenced by the likes of De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest and James Brown and can be accurately described as "nu-jazz", a herbal blend of jazz textures with funk and electronic overlays.
